Hi! I’m Stefanie, also known as Stevie (but please don’t call me Stef!). I started in publishing in 2015 and through a series of sideways moves landed at my current agency, the wonderful Ladderbird Literary Agency, in April 2021. I also provide freelance editing services.
As an Asian Latina (Japanese, Mexican, Irish) growing up in a mostly white town, I’ve had to unlearn a lot of conditioning to get to where I am. I’m dedicated to helping other BIPOC accomplish their dreams too. My goal is always to provide a safe space in publishing for those of us the industry doesn’t generally welcome. Also, I’m an upbeat, emoji-using, exclamation-mark-counting nerd 🙂
In my personal life, you’ll find me out for a run or baking up something sweet to enjoy. I love spending time with my sweet but crazy puppy (lovingly called Demon Dog by his grandparents) and grabbing iced coffee with my husband on hot days. On days in I’m knitting, watching something dramatic but funny/cozy, or organizing something that will turn to chaos in .2 seconds.
